Gazzetta dello Sport highlight the upcoming Derby d’Italia in the transfer market as both Inter and Juventus are on the look-out for young central defenders, with three key names on both their shopping lists.

The first name is Cristian Romero from Genoa. Enrico Preziosi has stated that he will not leave in January but has also made it clear that he believes the player is worth €20-25 million, so there clearly is room for a deal. Juventus want to secure him in January and bring him in in the following Summer window or even leave him on loan for another season. Meanwhile, Inter is working on a Summer move, unless Miranda leaves, in which case they would have the money and space for him now.

Then there is Jean-Clair Todibo from Toulouse. He refused to sign his first professional contract with the French club and will most likely leave for free at the end of the season. Napoli are also interested but Juventus are well and truly in the lead, since this is the players preferred choice. At first, the deal seemed like it was going to happen exclusively in the Summer but now Paratici is looking to speed things up, by paying the French club a small sum. Inter remains vigilant in this situation but they can’t do anything in January without a sale first.

Finally, Joachim Andersen of Sampdoria, has been enquired about by Inter multiple times. Purchased for just €1.5 million, now the asking price is around €30 million. Inter are very interested, while Juventus prioritise other options. The real danger in this operation for Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is Tottenham.
