Inter will go in hard for Nicolò Barella this summer, something that is confirmed by Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport which explains what kind of ideas Inter have for the transfer market this summer.

“For sure, the basic idea of Marotta is to add young profiles like Barella together with experienced players with a high profile, a strategy that would take Inter a couple of steps higher, especially in Europe. The first name is as always Luka Modric, but if that dream should crumble once again, Inter will try to sign a couple of “finished” players in the sense of adding quality and experience to a roster that came back to the Champions League this year.”

The Milan based newspaper then discuss the €50 million rated Cagliari midfielder who has also drswn interest from Milan and Napoli among others.

“Milan director Leonardo wanted to sign Barella already in January in order to close the deal before the FFP sentence, then the AC Milan management chose to avoid a fight with UEFA and chose to wait. Then Ancelotti’s Napoli was added to the race with an offer of €20 million plus Rog and Ounas. Beware of Manchester United and Arsenal that could be ready for a cash deal, but at the moment Inter is in pole position.”
