Mauro Icardi missed the whole of yesterday’s training session, the first day back after the winter holidays and Corriere dello Sport reports that Inter have been left greatly irritated by his poor planning.

Dario Baccin, Piero Ausilio’s deputy Sporting Director, was at Appiano yesterday and made it clear that he was not impressed. The same feelings are shared by Beppe Marotta and Giovanni Gardini. Today, the captain will be held accountable by management and likely fined.

The problem is not the fact that he arrived late because the cause of his lateness was out of his hands. His flight from Buenos Aires to Madrid had been delayed. He informed Inter of this promptly so they were willing to let him come in the afternoon for an individual session. However, the reason for their frustration is because during the time that he was waiting for next flight to Madrid he failed to reschedule his flight from Madrid to Milan, therefore missing it and having to wait even longer.

Lautaro Martinez who took a different flight still managed to arrive for his individual session in the afternoon though.
