Roma based newspaper Corriere dello Sport reports that the contract renewal negotiations between Inter and Mauro Icardi will continue on Monday, once the game against Sassuolo has been played and everyone has a chance to rethink things.

According to the report, at the moment, both Inter and Wanda are taking it slow. After the statement made by Inter President Steven Zhang last week, which were greatly respected by all, the Nerazzurri President also took the time to reassure the striker of Suning’s plans for the club.

The willingness to remain with Inter is something that has been repeatedly expressed by both sides, but unfortunately, putting those feelings into a contract is not so easy. Mainly because the distance between the clubs offer and player’s demands is still too big.

Inter increased their original offer which was considered insulting by some fans, given his contribution and loyalty. Currently, Inter’s negotiators have offered €7-7.5 million, while Wanda is waiting for them to get closer to 9 than 8.
