Yesterday, news broke that Inter and Milan Skriniar had made considerable steps towards renewing his contract and that an agreement is now extremely close.

This news was also supported by Milano based Gazzetta dello Sport in today’s newspaper edition of the paper who report: “A meeting between Piero Ausilio and the Slovak’s agent, Karol Csonto resulted in a significant leap towards completing negotiations for the players renewal. Inter has raised its initial €2.5 million offer including bonuses made last September, to €3 million plus bonuses, almost twice as much as the 1.7 million he earns now.”

“The defender is aware of the financial sacrifice and appreciates the clubs efforts. Skriniar’s loyalty was not in doubt after he highlighted fake news regarding his renewal originating from Slovakia. But now, this is a clear signal from Inter. Many believe Inter may sacrifice a big player to help the club respect the Financial Fair Play rules and then reinvest that money in other places, but this renewal now shows that it definitely won’t be Skriniar.”

Inter’s defence of Skriniar and De Vrij is the foundation upon which Inter are working to build upon. Despite the arrival of Godin, who is seen as a replace for Miranda, negotiations with Sampdoria for Andersen also continue.
