Former Inter coach Frank De Boer spoke to NOS as he started his new adventure as a Major League Soccer coach for Atlanta United, turning once again to his experience with the Nerazzurri.

“People often think that US football is inferior to the one played elsewhere, but it is not like that. I have ended up in a true football team. I am convinced that if I can do good things here, I will be able to return to the European football once again.”

The Dutch coach then returns to highlight the differences between his North American adventure compared to his experiences from Europe: “I wanted some time off, here I can concentrate on the football aspect which is a fantastic thing.”

“I do not have the entire organization on my shoulders, a lesson learned from my time at Inter and Crystal Palace. At Inter there were a lot of influences and the club and the fans wanted to see results immediately, there was so much to do there, I was there four months but it seemed like I had been working there for 6 years and I was so exhausted.”
