Inter coach Luciano Spalletti analyzed the game against Austrian side Rapid Vienna after the 1-0 win away in the first leg of the Europa League in an interview with Inter TV.

“A heavy and important goal which was enough. I saw an organized team, almost never risking anything when they got possession of the ball. In this stadium no team has managed to score,  and being able to do that makes us very happy.”

“Lautaro Martinez had an excellent performance tonight, a lot of the result comes from him always fighting for the goal, like he did when he created the penalty. We could have done better during the construction phase in order to make us serve better balls up top, a lot of the balls came off the ground which makes everything harder. But the team did well and he had a great night.”

“It was important to win, something that gives us confidence which creates a good base. Against teams like this it is tough because you always risk the counter attacks.”

Spalletti then looked forward to the Sampdoria match stating that: “It is a great team who plays a brilliant football. It will be a game where they will give us a hard time.”

Spalletti concluded by praising the travelling Inter fans: “They are always with us wherever we play and for them it is always Valentine’s Day in the way the treat the team.”
