Inter midfielder and scorer of the winning goal that brought home the victory, Radja Nainggolan, had a chat with Inter TV after the game against Sampdoria.

“Right now we are experiencing difficult moments off the pitch, so the only thing we can do is let our play do the talking. You could see from the start that we wanted the victory and we got it.

“I am happy with today’s game, most of all for the victory. Everyone likes to score goals, even more so to score the decisive one. A victory like this brings confidence and tranquillity to the squad. In this uncertain moment we have proven ourselves to be united as a team. Now we have to continue like this in order to show that we are where we belong. Tonight it was important to bring home the three points, especially after a tough match like we had on Thursday. We had a good game, although there is still room for improvement, but the most important thing was to keep the other teams behind us.”

He proceeded to discuss the race for Champions League football.

“There are a lot of teams and they are all pushing for that spot, this means that knowing that a false step could make them overpass you creates tensions. We can only do our job, hoping that the teams behind us could lose points here and there.”

He concluded by looking ahead to Thursday’s Europa League match with Rapid Vienna.

“Right now we will enjoy the three points, then we will start to think about the game against Rapid Vienna. It is difficult to play against them because they base their play on counter attacks, we need to prepare better for the next game.”
