Juventus Sporting Director Fabio Paratici commented on the Mauro Icardi rumours linking him with a Summer move to the Bianconeri in an interview with Radio Anch’io Lo Sport.
“I want to clarify that last Summer no official offer was made and that there has been no recent contact with Icardi or his entourage. The original contact in the Summer was to better understand if Icardi was truly planning on leaving Inter and if he would be interested in a move to Turin. This is completely normal for everyone. The most important thing that I want to clarify is that there have been no recent communications with Mrs. Icardi. It is February, Mauro is a player of Inter and we are about to enter the most crucial part of the season. Anything else related to this will continue in June, if at all possible.”
In the interview, Paratici also gave his opinion on some of the younger talent in the league, in particular Nicolo Zaniolo, a potential reported target of the Bianconeri.
“We take great satisfaction in having the best Italian players at this club. it’s a good sign that we continue to be linked to the newest talents. There is a lot of promising youth, that we are are watching, but we do not know if these players are interested in Juventus., because at the moment we are only watching. The fans could also tell you who the next stars are, you do not need me to say what is already clear.”
Paratici was asked about Beppe Marotta. Firstly, he asked if Marotta had enquired about Paulo Dybala to which he responded: “He has played almost every game this year. He is a Juventus player and at the age of 25 he has already shown his potential but now he needs to work hard to fulfil it if he wants to continue here and I believe that he does.”
The interview concluded with him being was asked why Marotta left: “This is not a question that I can answer.”
