In an interview with RMC Sport Network, Mario Sconcerti spoke on the situation of former Inter captain Mauro Icardi.

“There is too big of a difference between what Icardi wants from an economical point of view in respect to where the other players are. The team is clearly affected by the situation,” he insisted.

“I think that the club will try to find a solution with Icardi. In situations like this, Spalletti has no role to play, Mauro is Marotta’s problem now.

“It could be that Icardi could leave at the end of the season, but that means that there have to be teams willing to pay what he costs. Now Marotta is in the centre of the action and is currently making it clear that Inter, as other clubs, just cannot have individuals dictating the terms.

“A club always knows that every discussion is on a collective rather than an individual level. If you cave to one player, paying him a lot of money, the others will come.”
