Legendary Italian manager Fabio Capello has weighed in on the current situation of Mauro Icardi at Inter.

Icardi was stripped of the Inter captaincy last week and then refused the call-up to be part of the Inter squad for the Rapid Vienna match, citing injury problems.

He missed Sunday night’s game through the same injury and despite many reports predicting he would not show face at San Siro, he surprised everyone by appearing and sitting pitch side.

“These sort of problems are solved if there is a will to do so,” he said in an interview with Il Messaggero.

“The fact that he and his wife went to the stadium, knowing that they would not be welcomed with the applause that they are used to, is an important gesture on their part.”

Capello then went on to state what he would like to see Icardi do.

“He must present himself in the dressing room and apologise to his teammates and above all tell Wanda to be a little more careful on social media.”
