During an interview with Milano based Gazzetta dello Sport, former Nerazzurri and current coach of the Turkish national team, Mircea Lucescu, also gave his thoughts on the Icardi case.
“It’s part of the spirit of Inter, to have phenomenal players like him, with behavioral problems. I think back to Ronaldo. But with such talent comes the risk of degeneration. For example, it can create a toxic environment in the dressing room and can change their attitude towards the shirt. Inter must manage them to ensure that they put the shirt before their own personal records, always.”
The Romanian coach continued by speaking about Italy’s own star in the making, Sandro Tonali: “I really like him. After Andrea Pirlo, he is the second greatest talent from Brescia, in my opinion. I’m not saying they are similar, they are different players but his understanding of the game amazes me. It’s a really important thing and he’s going to be very successful”.
