Inter manager Luciano Spalletti did not dwell too much on the controversial late penalty call in his interview with Inter TV post-match as Inter were held to a 3-3 draw by Fiorentina.

“The penalty? Maybe someone could see that it was a penalty. It is better to talk about the match as a whole though,” he insisted before going on to praise the way in which his team performed in Florence.

“We are on the right path, we just need to get the morale of the guys right, because from there you go further. Our performance was accomplished, we managed to reconstruct the enthusiasm because only with that can you achieve the right performance.

“We needed the team to pull something extra from the hat in order to continue the streak and in some ways they did.

“To concede that kind of goal in the beginning of a match could break any team, instead I saw an immediate reaction.”
