Mauro Icardi will not be part of the Argentina squad for their upcoming friendly games, and at at this point it seems that he is at risk for the Coppa America too, this according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Perhaps Mauro does not intend to accelerate his return to Inter, especially as he continues to evaluate the possibility of having knee surgery, despite the fact that the medical stuff think that it is unnecessary.
“So how do we get over this situation? Wanda is in Dubai and this makes it clear that the new renewal proposal will not be arriving this week. His contract expires in 2021 and Mauro and Wanda consider Milan to be a second home for them, and for this reason it would be appropriate for them to change their strategy.
“Icardi cannot afford to be sidelined by this situation for long. In the Summer, he can leave Inter if someone is willing to trigger his 110 million release clause, but that will be considered excessive by many if he does not play from now until the end of the season.”
