Barcelona are hesitating over offering a renewal to Ivan Rakitic and now the Spanish giants must decide whether to offer him a new deal or get ready to let him go according to a report from Spanish newspaper AS.

Upon his return from the World Cup, where he finished as runner-up with Croatia, the soon-to-be 31-year-old was promised a contract renewal but no offer has been forthcoming. His current contract with the Blaugrana runs until the end of the 2020/21 season.

The report goes on to state that the Inter linked midfielder rejected a rich proposal from French powerhouses Paris St. Germain last Summer also due to the fact his family are settled in Catalonia.

With Frenkie de Jong coming in at the end of the season and Adrien Rabiot also looking likely to come in, Rakitic could find himself in a difficult position and he could drop down the pecking order at the club as a result of the host of arrival in the midfield.
