Julio Cesar spoke with DAZN in the stands at San Siro where he reminisced on parts of his career with the Nerazzurri.

“It was beautiful when the Curva was shouting my name. Being here reminds me of many great memories like the penalty saves, for example against Ronaldinho,” he began.

“To save a penalty for a goalkeeper is like scoring a goal for a striker. For me it’s the best feeling and I can’t begin to tell you about the emotion you feel when you save the penalty.

He proceeded to speak on former manager Roberto Mancini.

“He was someone who gave me confidence and changed my life. He told me I had to trust him, so I obeyed because he was the coach.”

Next he spoke on another of his former managers in Jose Mourinho.

“Mourinho turned a normal player into a strong player with his philosophy and way of working. He could speak to us until we had blood in our eyes to psych us up for games. Marco Materazzi created a group chat on WhatsApp for members of that team and Mourinho is one of the most active in it. He always makes jokes.”
