According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter striker Mauro Icardi could soon make a return to action but there are some things stopping that from happening in the meantime.

Icardi has not played since February 9 and is out officially with a knee injury but the recent events off the pitch have left a sour taste in the mouths of his Nerazzurri teammates, many of whom have come in for criticism from his outspoken wife, and agent, Wanda Icardi in the media.

The Argentine is yet to give an explanation to the team or coaching staff for the events and this explanation is understood to be decisive to him returning.

There are currently 11 players away on international duty so that explanation is off the table until they all return next week.

Unlike in the early stages of this saga where it seemed highly unlikely to happen, the report goes on to state that Icardi has convinced himself that explaining himself to teammtes needs to be done.
