Javier Zanetti has spoken on Inter’s involvement in this Summer’s International Champions Cup that will see the Nerazzurri play in Singapore, China and the UK.

“I think it is a very important event for the clubs involved which enables them to get closer to fans from all over the world. For us, taking part in this competition is a great opportunity, we will have some great games. The game with Juventus in particular will be great as there will be lots of fans.

“We are one of the most followed teams in Asia. We hope to be welcomed by Asian fans with great warmth, it will be a pleasure for us to come back to them.

The Argentine also spoke on Inter’s goals for the remainder of the season.

“We have the goal of qualifying for the Champions League, ten games are left and on Sunday we meet a direct rival. The team is preparing for the match as best as possible with the coach.

“Can Icardi return against Lazio? I think we have talked about him too much, now we must focus on the field because it is fundamental for the season finale.”

He concluded by talking about what Inter plan to do in the future.

“Inter is an important club with great ambition, a clear vision of the future, a well-defined strategy. Our club is a brand recognised all over the world, capable of transmitting universal emotions and values.”
