Paolo Nicoletti has accused Inter of failing to respect the agreement he reached with Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta with regard to Mauro Icardi’s return but Inter think differently according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

As per the Rome based newspaper, the agreement was to do with the 26-year-old’s reintegration back into training after a long period in exile and upon his return to training, it was entirely down to Inter manager Luciano Spalletti as to what would happen next in this seemingly never-ending soap opera.

Icardi returned to training at the start of last week with the rest of his Nerazzurri teammates and many reports suggested he would be in the squad to face Lazio tonight but Spalletti announced at his press conference that the Argentine wouldn’t be part of the squad due to an incident at training.

Corriere dello Sport conclude that all the work done in a bid to mend the situation over the past few weeks could now be swept away.
