Andrea Pirlo has shared his thoughts on Inter’s loss to Lazio last night and believes Inter’s lack of a true striker on the field hurt them.

“In the match against Lazio a striker was definitely missing because Inter put so many crosses into the box but there was no one there to get on the end of them. Keita is not a real striker while Spalletti also tried Vecino there,” he said in an interview with Sky Sport.

Pirlo then defended Luciano Spalletti for his decision to not call up Mauro Icardi for the match.

“Spalletti was consistent, in what he did and in what he said. A captain does not have the personality to go and talk to a coach, the club or a partner and he needs a lawyer? As far as the subject of being called up is concerned: if Icardi decides to train, he trains, but then it is the coach who decides if he plays or not.”
