Lautaro Martinez will return to the starting line-up once he has recovered from injury and Mauro Icardi will be back on the bench according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.
“Once he has recovered from his muscular problem, he will be leading the Nerazzurri attack, maybe not from the Frosinone match but everything suggests that in the upcoming games against Roma and Juventus the stage will all be his,” the report from the Rome based newspaper reads.
They then pondered whether Icardi could recover his place in the starting 11.
“Is it possible that Icardi can restore the old hierarchies with a great match and maybe a goal, tonight, against Atalanta? It remains difficult, if not impossible.”
Lautaro earned his starting berth in the team through a series of great performances in Icardi’s absence and Luciano Spalletti and many of the team have not forgiven Icardi for sitting out and not helping out, especially when the team were hit with a series of injuries.
