While Brozovic enters his recovery process, De Vrij and Lautaro return to the the pitch and if all goes to plan, both should be available against Frosinone.

Both the Dutchman and Argentine suffered injuries while away on international duty, the only difference was that de Vrij did not even get to play a game and spent an extra week in treatment, as Turin based newspaper reports today.

“Yesterday, both were introduced back into training and tomorrow they’ll be back for the entire  day and should be available for selection against Frosinone. The choice between Lautaro Martinez and Mauro Icardi will be an interesting one to watch, while it seems certain that de Vrij will replace Miranda, who Spalletti grew increasingly frustrated with on Sunday, because he struggled to start moves with his passing.”

“Meanwhile de Vrij, although having made a costly mistake against Frankfurt in the Europa League, has proven much more effective in this regard and this, in the absence of Brozovic, who will likely miss the next two games, is especially important.”

“The Croatian midfielder is usually the brains behind the Nerazzurri’s build-up play, but against Frosinone and Roma, both Skriniar and De Vrij will have to share this responsibility.”
