Today, further medical examinations of Marcelo Brozovic’s injury will take place and hopefully give some clarity on when Inter can expect the Croatian midfielder to return to action.

On Sunday, during the first half against Atalanta, the midfielder was forced to limp off due to a suspected muscular tear in his right thigh.

“There is not much optimism At Inter as everyone expects him to be out for a while”, Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport reports.

Therefore the Croatian is certain to miss the match against Frosinone and most likely also against Roma on the eve of Easter. There is some hope that Spalletti will have him back in training at least before Juventus and then a second evaluation will be made regarding his fitness.

This could be a very costly absence, as Brozovic has become a fundamental part of Spalletti’s system and only Borja Valero is capable of replicating his role, although he should not be considered his equal and of course does not posses Marcelo’s youth anymore. There are still no excuses, Inter will have to persevere.
