While she appeared in her usual columnist role on Tiki Taka late last night, former Inter captain Mauro Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara insisted that while the club have taken some things from him lately, they have not taken away his happiness.

“They were able to take the armband and penalties away from him, but not his happiness of playing for Inter,” she remarked.

She then discussed the decision that saw Ivan Perisic take the penalty last night in the 3-1 win over Frosinone rather than her husband, who is the traditional taker.

“Icardi was the first to give Perisic a high five after he scored. He probably asked to take it and Mauro said ‘yes’. It doesn’t necessarily mean that they must be friends.”

Icardi made his third successive start last night at the Stadio Benito Stirpe but was unable to add to his seasonal goal tally of 16. He was however able to tally another assist as he unselfishly played Matias Vecino in right at the end.
