Should he manage to lead Inter to qualification to the Champions League for the second successive season, Luciano Spalletti could remain in charge at the club despite the persistent Antonio Conte rumours according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

Spalletti may also be kept on for financial reasons. He and his staff are currently all contracted to the club for a further two seasons and it would take €25 million gross to remove them from their positions, a considerable amount to spend on top of a salary for a new manager.

If reports regarding Conte’s salary demands are to be believed, Inter could potentially end up spending around €50 million over the next two seasons if they are to sack Spalletti and employ him.

This final month of the season will prove to be a month of truths for the future of Spalletti at the club, where he has managed since 2017.
