Roma have placed a €20 million price tag on striker Edin Dzeko as Inter study a move for the Bosnian this summer.

Dzeko, 33, has one year left on his contract and is expected to leave the Giallorossi after four seasons in the capital, with Borussia Dortmund and West Ham both registering interest.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport reported the forward would prefer to stay in Italy instead of moving abroad, meaning Inter – who are likely to part company with Mauro Icardi this summer – is currently a plausible destination.

“Dzeko seems like the perfect man to replace Icardi, for several reasons,” they said today.

“Luciano Spalletti has already coached him at Roma and knows full well what he could give to the team, but he would also be the perfect partner in attack for Lautaro Martinez, whom Inter have earmarked as their striker of the future.

“There’s also an economic advantage: Dzeko is out of contract next summer and would therefore be accessible in terms of price.”

The Bosnian earns €4.5 million per season at Roma and would want a three-year deal wherever he goes.

Inter are monitoring the situation without haste as they prepare for life after Icardi, who could be sold for around €70 million if no club wished to pay his €110 million release clause.
