Inter defender Milan Skriniar stopped by in the mixed zone at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, in order to answer a couple of questions about the draw against Roma, as reported by FcInterNews.

Before the game you talked about reaching the second spot, does this result put you down or can you find some positive things with the draw?

“We were 7 points behind Napoli before this game, there is still the chance of finishing second but for us the only thing that counts is to get to the Champions League. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to win today, we played well during the second half but in the end we failed to score that winning second goal.”

This Saturday against Juventus you have the chance to secure the Champions League spot. How important is that game?

“It is always an important game since we are fighting for the Champions League, and above all this is a game against Juventus. It’s like a derby, a game with a lot of emotions and we have to enter the pitch with the objective to win.”

In the second half when Icardi entered something changed, how important is he for the remainder of the season?

“Like when Lautaro is on the pitch, when Icardi enters the defenders have to stay attentive. If we have strong attackers we have the ability to score goals.”

You and De Vrij swapped positions defending against Dzeko and the defense held up well.

“Yes, we did quite well. Dzeko is very strong physically, but we managed to control him. We can always do better but we did well.”

Looking at how the other teams did in this round of the Serie A, are you satisfied with the draw?

“Looking at how the match developed, I think we deserved to win, unfortunately we only managed to bring home one point at that means we have to fight until the end.”
