Incoming Diego Godin will be the highest paid member of the Inter squad upon his arrival during the Summer according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Uruguayan defender is due to join Inter upon the expiry of his contract with Atletico Madrid at the end of the season and will join Inter on a three year deal with an annual salary of €6.75 million.

Inter initially only wanted to sign him to a two year deal but he insisted on a three year deal and eventually won Inter over.

The Nerazzurri are well aware how important his experience will be in boosting the quality of the team and the official announcement regarding his arrival will come at the end of the current season, so in a few weeks time.

His arrival will further strengthen what is already one of the best performing defences in Europe and will give Inter lots of options.
