Everton manager Marco Silva has ruled out the possibility of the Toffees signing Inter midfielder Joao Mario in the upcoming Summer transfer window.

“I had him with me at Sporting and I launched him into the first team there. He had a very good time and is at a high level with his current team but he is not a player on our radar,” he confirmed in an interview with Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.

As per various reports, Joao Mario was being considered by the Premier League outfit to replace departing countryman Andre Gomes at Goodison Park.

Other reports have meanwhile suggested Inter offered the 26-year-old to Everton as part of a deal that would have seen Richarlison head the other way.

This season the EURO 2016 champion has made 22 appearances across all competitions for the club. In 1168 minutes on the park, Inter’s record transfer signing has contributed a single goal and three assists.
