Inter’s Argentinian striker Mauro Icardi will not be included in Argentina’s Copa America squad according to Argentinian media outlet TYC Sports.

According to the report, the former Nerazzurri captain wont survive the second cut of players after being included in Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni’s initial 40 man squad.

The reason for Mauro Icardi’s snub, according to the report, is the long absence from the pitch that the former Nerazzurri captain sustained following the drama that ensued after he was stripped of his captaincy.

TYC Sport reports that Scaloni’s Argentina squad for the 2019 Copa America will be revealed tomorrow and Mauro Icardi’s name will not be included in that list.

The former Blucerchiati attacker Icardi has only made 8 appearances for his native Argentina, scoring the solitary goal.

Icardi has never represented Argentina at any senior tournaments and hoped to make his tournament debut for the Albiceleste this summer in Brazil.
