Antonio Conte will be appointed as Inter’s new manager next week, replacing Luciano Spalletti, even if the Nerazzurri fail to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League next season.
This according to Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the former Chelsea and Juventus coach will sign a three year deal with the Nerazzurri, which will see him earn €9 million net per season with bonuses.
“The agreement between Inter and Conte has been found for quite some time, irrespective of the outcome of the final match of the season this week. Conte will earn €9 million plus bonuses per season for the next three years.”
“The agreement will not be affected by where Inter finish in the Serie A. Whether it is the Champions League or the Europa League, the former Italy national team coach will be the man in charge of Inter next season”
“Inter are also looking to find an agreement with Luciano Spalletti, who has a contract with Inter that expires in June 2021. The Nerazzurri will present him with an offer at which point it is up to him to accept or decline the offer.”
“However, for now Inter are focused on qualifying for the Champions League. Mauro Icardi is expected to start in what could be his last match for the Nerazzurri. What is certain is that the former Inter captain will not partake in the Copa America.”
“The Argentinian national team coach Lionel Scaloni did not call Icardi up to his 23-man squad whilst deciding to include Inter teammate Lautaro Martinez, another blow for Icardi in what has been the worst season of his career.”
