Inter’s CEO Beppe Marotta will meet with Wanda Nara in the coming days to inform her of the club’s decision to sell Mauro Icardi this summer, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Icardi has repeatedly expressed his desire to stay in Milan on social media, despite a farcical second part of the 2018-19 season which saw him stripped of the club captaincy.

However, Inter no longer wish to count on Icardi under new coach Antonio Conte and will investigate the possibility of swapping him with Juventus forward Paulo Dybala.

“Icardi’s wife and agent will return to Milan from a work-related visit to Bangkok in the next few days,” the Rome-based publication explained.

“Marotta wishes to meet Wanda and confirm Inter’s desire to sell Icardi before she and Mauro jet off for their summer holidays.”

Inter will need to receive an offer they believe is reasonable in order to move Icardi on, while the forward will also need to accept the new destination.

The club have made their decision, however, with Conte’s arrival unlikely to change his fate.

“It remains to be seen whether Dybala could move in the opposite direction if Icardi went to Juventus,” the paper concluded.

“What’s for sure is the ‘swap of the century’ would help both clubs balance their books.”
