Inter manager Antonio Conte called Wanda Icardi, the wife, and agent of Mauro Icardi, to discuss the troubled Argentina striker’s situation at the club according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

The phone call lasted approximately 10 minutes and was appreciated by Wanda even though Conte stressed that he does not deem her client and husband as part of his plans for the club.

Conte made it clear that he would not call the 26-year-old up for the pre-season training camp in Lugano, Switzerland either.

In reply, Wanda asked for her husband to be released from his contract for nothing. Inter however, as per the report, do not wish to lose him for nothing.

The report goes on to state that Juventus are closely monitoring the situation of the former Sampdoria striker. They already have an agreement in principle with him over a five year contract worth €8 million a season.

The Bianconeri will offer Gonzalo Higuain and a cash sum in return for Icardi but Inter will instead ask for Paulo Dybala in return.
