Inter Have Made Their Final Offer To Cagliari For Nicolò Barella
Inter have made Cagliari a €40 million offer for midfielder Nicolo Barella and do not intend to raise it any further, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Nerazzurri’s offer includes €36 million up front plus €4 million in add-ons, without any extra players included in the deal.
Cagliari still want €50 million for the 22-year-old with Paris Saint-Germain and Milan lurking in the background.
“Inter consider their offer to be final and have no intention of taking part in auctions with other clubs,” Gazzetta reported this morning.
“What’s for sure is the deal for Barella will not include any other players, which means Inter won’t secure any capital gains from it before 30 June.”
Inter remain strong favourites to sign Barella after the player gave his word both to the club and head coach Antonio Conte.
However, they have also made an approach for Sassuolo midfielder Stefano Sensi in case Cagliari continue to play hardball.
Sensi represents the type of midfielder Conte likes and would be available at a significantly lower price than Barella.
The paper also said the interest for Sensi could be an indirect message to Cagliari, though, in an attempt to force their hand as negotiations continue to stall.
