Roma have put Alessandro Florenzi on the transfer market amid interest from Inter, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Florenzi was due to replace Daniele De Rossi as the Giallorossi’s captain but could be sacrificed because of his frosty relationship with the club’s supporters.

Antonio Conte wanted to sign the versatile midfielder while managing Juventus and has asked Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio to tempt him with an offer.

Inter would be willing to meet Roma’s €25 million asking price for Florenzi, while offering €5-10 million more in add-ons, although they would prefer a part-exchange deal involving Dalbert and €5-10 million in cash.

The Nerazzurri would be even happier to include the Italian in a swap deal with Edin Dzeko and Mauro Icardi, although the latter’s desire to remain in Milan makes this highly improbable.

Icardi would not accept a move to a club which does not play in the Champions League, while Roma are reluctant to take on another player on a high salary as they seek to downscale their wage bill.

Florenzi remains ‘a concrete possibility’ for Inter, though, and could represent the ideal player to fill in at wing-back for Conte.
