Inter’s deal for midfielder Stefano Sensi could be delayed because their academy forward Edoardo Vergani has not accepted a move to Sassuolo yet, according to FcInterNews.it.

Sensi will join Inter on a season-long loan worth €5 million with an option to buy for €20 million, but Vergani – who is valued at €5 million – will cover the cost of the initial loan.

The 18-year-old has not yet given the green light to join the Neroverdi, though, because he also has an offer from Fiorentina.

Sky Sport contradicted this report later on Tuesday night, though, saying Vergani would join Roma as part of a deal to bring Edin Dzeko to Inter.

Inter and Sassuolo are not concerned by the hold-up in any case and would be able to find another youngster to include in the deal should Vergani go to the Giallorossi.

The forward made 17 appearances for Inter’s Primavera side last season, scoring twice in the annual Viareggio tournament.

Sensi has agreed to sign for Inter and should become the Nerazzurri’s first acquisition of the summer whenever the 23-year-old’s arrival is officially announced.
