Romelu Lukaku’s agent today confirmed Inter are making a serious attempt to sign the striker from Manchester United.

The Belgian is known to be keen on a move to Serie A but the Nerazzurri cannot currently afford to meet United’s high asking price.

Federico Pastorello held talks at Inter’s new club offices and later told reporters Lukaku was a genuine target for them, despite the high costs of the deal.

“Lukaku has made it clear what he wants and we’ll see what happens later on,” he said.

“It’s a dream for Inter and those are normally difficult to realise, but nothing is impossible.”

Pastorello also provided updates on the futures of Edoardo Vergani, who is expected to join Sassuolo as part of a deal for Stefano Sensi, and Antonio Candreva, both of whom he manages.

“We only spoke about Vergani today because that’s the most pressing issue,” the agent added.

“There’s nothing to add as far as Candreva is concerned, he will definitely stay at Inter.”

Pastorello is mediating between Inter and Hertha Berlin in talks for Valentino Lazaro and sounded optimistic the midfielder could join Antonio Conte.

“I think there’s a chance he could sign for Inter,” he assured.

“There’s a little bit of distance between the clubs but let’s hope we can resolve that.”
