Nicolò Barella has decided he will not accept a move to any club which isn’t Inter this summer, according to Tuttosport.

Beppe Marotta was due to meet Cagliari owner Tommaso Giulini at the Lega Calcio’s offices in Milan today, but the latter denied any such encounter took place.

Cagliari have reached an agreement with Roma for €35 million plus Gregoire Defrel, while Inter remain firm on their offer of €36 million plus €4 million of add-ons.

However, Marotta and Piero Ausilio are not worried they will lose Barella because the player has made his personal desire very clear.

Giulini’s asking price of €50 million is deemed too high by the Nerazzurri but they remain confident they can secure the 22-year-old’s services without meeting it.

Barella rejected a move to Napoli back in January and is now expected to do the same with Roma, meaning the agreement between the Giallorossi and Cagliari will become ‘scrap paper’.

Giulini told reporters this afternoon the midfielder would make a decision on his future in the next two days.
