Nicolò Barella has rejected a lucrative five-year deal from Cagliari because the midfielder is waiting for a move to Inter, according to FcInterNews.it.

Tommaso Giulini has tried and failed to spark a bidding war for the 22-year-old between Inter and Roma, leaving him with no option but to offer a new contract.

Barella would be tied to the Rossoblu until 2024, with a salary worth €2 million and a release clause set at €50 million.

However, the player has made his decision and is repeatedly proving there is nothing anyone can do to change his mind.

Reports elsewhere this week suggested Barella was in Paris to sign a deal with PSG, but the midfielder remains in Sardinia after playing for Italy in the under-21 Euros.

Inter and Cagliari are not on excellent terms but the impression is they will eventually agree a deal, even if there are few ‘flashpoints’ during negotiations.

Barella’s agent Alessandro Beltrami also manages Radja Nainggolan and he hopes his clients can play together for Inter.

Nainggolan does not want to move to China, despite interest from Guanzghou Evergrande and Inter’s sister club Jiangsu Suning, and thinks he can convince Antonio Conte to give him a second chance.

The Belgian wants to stay in Milan and has told friends he is confident he still has a future with the Nerazzurri.

Inter need €30 million to avoid making a net loss on Nainggolan, unless they send him out on loan, but the club have not received any offers yet.
