Inter were again linked with former Genoa striker Pietro Pellegri today as Monaco seek deals for Joao Mario and Ivan Perisic.

Corriere dello Sport reported the young Italian’s name cropped up in talks between the clubs recently, despite having only played three matches last season.

Pellegri joined Monaco for €31 million in 2017 but missed almost the entire 2018-19 campaign with a serious groin problem.

The 18-year-old would only be willing to return to Italy for Inter, who nearly signed him from Genoa in 2017.

Mario and Perisic are both on their way out at Inter and could provide the Nerazzurri with much-needed funds in the market.

There was no indication of how much Monaco would offer for either player, but the idea of including Pellegri in a deal suggests they would not be able to guarantee an excessive fee.

Pellegri became the joint-youngest player to make his debut in Serie A back in December 2016, when he played for Genoa against Torino aged 15 years and 280 days.
