Antonio Conte is pushing Ivan Perisic out of Inter because he believes Dalbert and Matteo Politano are more suited to his new system, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Dalbert appears to have raised his game since the Nerazzurri’s new head coach arrived, producing an impressive series of performances against tough opposition in preseason.

Kwadwo Asamoah would also be ahead of Perisic in the pecking order at wing-back, though, while Federico Dimarco is yet to leave the club either.

Dimarco was linked with a move to Spal, with Mohamed Fares potentially moving the other way, but the paper assured this was no longer a possibility because of Dalbert’s good form.

Conte also tried Perisic as a second striker in his 3-5-2 formation, having decided he was not capable of playing at wing-back.

However, the Croatian did not convince him in that new position either, meaning he has no option but to leave.

Politano was rumoured to be up for sale last week after joining permanently from Sassuolo in June, but he is now due to be Conte’s fourth attacker.

The 25-year-old will complete Inter’s forward line with Lautaro Martinez and whichever two players come in before September.

Perisic is expected to leave this month but George Puscas will depart before him, having agreed an €8 million deal with Championship club Reading.
