Inter have sold George Puscas for €4.5 million more than they would have done had the striker joined Palermo as planned, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Rosanero were due to purchase the 23-year-old on a permanent deal for €3 million in June, but defaulted on their payment after failing to register for Serie B.

Inter recalled Puscas for preseason training and have now sold him to Championship side Reading for €7.5 million instead.

Reading have also granted Inter a 20% cut from any future transfer fee, which could give the Nerazzurri even more money.

Ryan Nolan and Facundo Colidio are on the verge of joining Puscas in England’s second tier as Inter close in on a double deal with Leeds.

One player who will not leave the club anymore is Matteo Politano, provided the former Sassuolo man does not receive any sensational offers.

Ivan Perisic had hoped to remain at Inter under Antonio Conte as well, but instead the Croatian is destined to leave.

Any funds Inter receive from player sales between now and 2 September could be redirected into other transfer deals, as they seek to give Conte the strongest squad possible for his first season in charge.
