Inter coach Antonio Conte spoke to Italian broadcaster InterTV following the Nerazzurri’s frustrating 2-2 draw against Parma tonight.

He said: “We controlled the game, even if I didn’t like the first half. Even when we scored, I called two or three players to tell them I wasn’t enjoying anything we were doing.

“Unfortunately, I was a bad prophet, because we gifted Parma two goals. The away side came here playing an impressive game; in the first 45 minutes they hurt us with their counter-attacks.

“I was happy with the reaction of the guys in the second half, where we created a lot of opportunities. I think we deserved a little more in the end.

“We have to give credit to these guys because the same team is playing every match almost without rest. Now we need to think about regaining some energy, because now we’re playing against Brescia and apart from one or two alterations it’ll be the same team again, for the fourth match in a row.”

Conte then discussed the difficulty of playing with the same squad due to injuries and a busy schedule.

“Already after the Dortmund match I warned people this game would be more difficult,” he added.

“When you come from a match won against a strong team, unconsciously there is a bit of relaxation. In the first half we didn’t do well today, but then the reaction in the second half shows that the team is there physically.

“I’m worried about the fact that we have to face a game every three days and the choices are reduced to little. I have to take risks, and this bothers me.

“Having said that, we know that we’ve started a process and, therefore, there’s an awareness of everything.

“We have room for improvement, not only on the pitch, but also outside. And we must also improve outside.”

Finally, Conte complemented the squad and said they had given everything they could.

“In the second half I had nothing to complain about, but the first half was one of the worst under my management,” he admitted.

“In the second half, instead, we put Parma under pressure and forced them to be afraid of us.

“To press 50 meters away from your own goal you have to feel good physically, but at the moment unfortunately I cannot do rotations.

“We’re struggling with some injuries, but we have to make a virtue out of necessity. We have to understand well how we can do to try to be better, in everything.”
