Inter left-back Cristiano Biraghi spoke to gathered reporters in the mixed zone at San Siro following the Nerazzurri’s 2-2 draw against Parma.

“Parma are a team with their own identity, they showed this last year and they are doing it in this year too,” Biraghi explained.

“They always know what they have to do, and we expected a game like this.”

He discussed whether the team was frustrated that they couldn’t capitalise on Juventus’ draw against Lecce earlier today.

“It was an opportunity,” he continued.

“We wanted to win then we took those goals in five minutes because of our mistakes. In the second half there was a reaction, but unfortunately we couldn’t win.”

The Italian defender then discussed what went wrong in today’s game.

“We shouldn’t have conceded those two goals, if not now we would have talked about another match. We have to try to make the most of our mistakes: now it’s a period that we concede goals with every error, it’s also happened against Sassuolo. Unbelievable…”

Biraghi then touched on where the team will go from here.

“Tuesday is another game, we are lucky enough to be able to play in three days’ time and understand the mistakes to put what we know how to do onto the pitch and return to victory.”

The player was unsure whether the challenge he received in the penalty area was a foul.

“I didn’t see it again. I touched the ball; he touched my leg: as soon as I felt the contact it’s obvious that I asked for the penalty. But the decisions are made by the officials so let’s leave them to do their job.”

He was adamant that the squad’s mentality wasn’t affected by news Juventus had dropped points.

“I don’t think so, on the contrary, it had to be a stimulus to win. We didn’t think about that, we think game by game. We’re at the beginning of a course, it’s normal for there to be mistakes.

“We have to understand them quickly and try to limit them, on Tuesday we have to go back to victory.”
