Parma coach Roberto D’Aversa spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia following the club’s 2-2 draw against Inter tonight.

The Nerazzurri had the chance to leapfrog Juventus at the top of the Serie A table after Maurizio Sarri’s side drew 1-1 at Lecce earlier on Saturday.

But goals from Candreva and Romelu Lukaku were only enough to secure a point, following first-half strikes from Yann Karamoh and Gervinho.

“Knowing Conte, he immediately went back into the locker room because he wasn’t satisfied because he didn’t win, that’s his strength,” D’Avers said.

“For the first 25 minutes we were the better team, taking advantage of the qualities of our players. We had also given away little.

“We were satisfied at half-time because we were still ahead, but if we consider the absences and the opponent then we must be very happy at full-time as well. We played better this year while drawing than we did last year when we won.

“Last year’s three points rewarded our determination, but Inter did better in terms of the overall game. Today everyone played well though. We managed to limit Inter’s width and scupper their vertical passes.”

Asked about Lukaku’s equalising goal, D’Aversa added: “We trust the technology because there are no mistakes with it now. Perhaps you could consider whether there was a foul on Karamoh at the beginning of the move, but it is not in our style to talk about it.

“Kulusevski? Given the culture and his upbringing, you’re unlikely to have any personal problems with him. It’s thanks to him that he stays with his feet on the ground.

“We are doing something extraordinary; the quality has increased compared to last year. Just think of Karamoh and Cornelius, which for me are not alternatives but starters like the others.”
