Inter and AC Milan will meet with the City council tomorrow in order to decide on the fate of the San Siro and the clubs’ proposed new projects, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Representatives from both Milanese clubs will meet the City Council to reach a final decision on whether there is the sufficient public interest needed in order to move ahead with either of the new stadium projects, although the decision is fully within the council’s discretion, the article adds.
The article highlights how the councillors ordered a detailed report from an independent third party, to decipher whether there was a possibility to adapt the existing San Siro and to explore the feasibility of a new stadium, with the final report being received already.
The final report from the experts suggest that restructuring the existing stadium “wouldn’t allow the achievement of high standards of comfort, safety and the performance required. The new system is essential.”
Therefore, both Milanese clubs are hoping that the City council will accept the report’s findings and allow them to move ahead with their projects.
