Inter coach Antonio Conte hasn’t given up on new arrival Valentino Lazaro, despite his two unconvincing appearances so far for the Nerazzurri, according to a report in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Conte discussed the 23-year-old Austrian midfielder at a press conference yesterday, saying: “We spent €20 million and it was a fair investment, because we believe in him. We’ll have to give him the chance to play from the start and express his qualities.”

The report suggests that Conte will start Lazaro against Bologna this afternoon in order to see the player’s progress at the club, after arriving from Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin this summer.

Lazaro is likely to start of Antonio Candreva today, as Conte looks to rotate the squad ahead of next week’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund. Cristiano Biraghi will also start ahead of Kwadwo Asamoah, with both Stefano Sensi and Matias Vecino on the bench.
