Former Juventus striker Alessandro Del Piero discussed Inter and their powerful striker Romelu Lukaku on Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, following the Nerazzurri’s important 2-1 victory over Bologna last night.

“Lukaku is a mix between Vieri and Ibrahimovic. He’s good at not being moved like Bobo, with more power than speed. On the subject of ball and foot skills, however, he reminds me of Ibrahimovic.”

“It’s no coincidence that Juventus wanted him too, today it’s easy to say, but Inter made a great deal by taking him, a player with these characteristics always makes the difference on the pitch.”

The former Manchester United forward joined the Nerazzurri in the summer for a club record €80 million and so far his performances are showing that the cost for Inter was worth it.

He has scored nine goals in 11 league appearances so far this season, with his two goals yesterday gifting the Nerazzurri a vital three points. Inter are still one point behind league leaders Juventus.
