Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini spoke to gathered reporters at a press conference yesterday ahead of the Bergamo based club’s clash against Cagliari.

“I think there are three teams that have something more than the others: Juve, Inter and Napoli. Then there is a series of pursuers very close to each other in value. Roma are growing, Lazio are strong, us and Cagliari are there, Milan and Fiorentina can arrive there.”

“The championship is open, it’s too early to draw definitive lines. We’ve been where we are for a while now, we’re fine and we still have room for improvement in our ability to play against strong teams, especially in attack. We can do better, risking a little less.”

A victory for la Dea against Cagliari today could see them rise to third place in the league, only four points behind second place Inter and five points behind league leaders Juventus.
