Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio are keenly following Fiorentina starlet Gaetano Castrovilli, according to a report from Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com.

The report details how the 22-year-old Italian midfielder has shone for the Florence based club in the first 11 games of the season. He has scored three goals and provided two assists in that time, but his calmness and accurate passing is what is making him stand out amongst his teammates.

The Nerazzurri are keen to strengthen their midfield in the upcoming January transfer window due to a lack of depth, and both Marotta and Ausilio think Castrovilli could be the perfect option, the report adds. Furthermore, Fiorentina are slightly interested in Italian forward Matteo Politano, meaning a possible swap deal plus extra could happen next summer.

The 22-year-old Italian midfielder has been key for Fiorentina in their last two games, scoring yesterday against Parma to help la Viola achieve a point, and providing a goal and an assist in the club’s 2-1 victory over Sassuolo earlier last week.
